The following are some of the advantages of performing regular bulk storage tank inspections:

WHY CLEAN AND INSPECT INDUSTRIAL PANEL TANKS?

Many tank manufacturers provide warranties as long as tanks are inspected regularly.

Potable water tank inspections are essential for good water maintenance beyond the tank itself. Sediment can accumulate along the bottom of tanks over time. Sediment, when present in small amounts, does not affect the quality of the water or the structural integrity of the storage tank.

However, as that sediment accumulates and mixes into thicker sludge material, problems begin to emerge. These negative effects may result in potable water safety concerns or tank material degradation due to the concentrated substances. Tank manufacturers typically recommend at least one inspection and subsequent cleaning per year. This is done to ensure long-term integrity, increase tank life, and avoid expensive repairs.

HOW DO I PERFORM A INDUSTRIAL PANEL TANK INSPECTION?

Traditionally, trained divers would be required to inspect a water storage tank that had not been completely drained. These divers would normally have to be hired out, resulting in high hourly rates and coordination issues. If any flaws are discovered, the tank must be completely emptied to remove sediment, clean, disinfect, or conduct repairs. After sufficient time has passed for disinfection, the tank can be refilled and contaminants measured. Depending on the size of the tank, this process can be costly and time-consuming, with significant downtime.
